On Saturday, Lexi turned three! We let her open her presents from Mom, Dad, Kenzie and Brayden first thing in the morning. I’m still not sure who was more excited: Lexi or the twins!
We gaver her a Make Your Own Monster Puppet Kit, a Jake and the Neverland Pirates Telescope and a Tangled Tower for all of her Tangled figurines she got at Disneyland. The tower was clearly her favorite!
Dad took her to Great Harvest the day before to make sure that she had some pumpkin chocolate chip bread for breakfast. After we all ate we headed to Build-A-Bear. She had a lot of fun stuffing and bathing Miss Swing-A-Lot, her new monkey.
Even though she dressed the monkey in a skirt, flip-flops and a flowered shirt she keeps telling me that the monkey is a boy.Who knew that among the kings of the jungle swinging from tree to tree there are also drag queens?!
We got a bite to eat and then headed home to get ready for her family party that evening.
THE INVITATION
THE GUESTS
L to R on couch: Grandma Rhodes, Alexis, Makenzie, Brayden, Grandpa & Grandma Mildon, Uncle Brian, Jen, Grandpa Rhodes; in front: Mom & Dad.
THE GAMES
I saw this game in Family Fun a while back and filed it away knowing I would someday do a snowman themed birthday party for Little Lexi. Everyone had a great time wrapping Andy and Brian up and turning them into larger than life snowmen while we listened to Frosty the Snowman.
I added a little twist to the game, however. After the snowmen were built, a couple of guests had to “feed” them by throwing marshmallows to them. Andy was the only snowman to actually catch a marshmallow in his mouth and was declared the winner. Watching them waddle around and get hit in the face trying to catch marshmallows was a lot of fun!
THE FOOD
Sticking with the snowman theme, we had quesadillas for dinner made to look like our frosty friends and a bowl full of olives that we called pieces of coal. I served water to drink and told everyone they were drinking a melted snowman; there were plenty of jokes about why I didn’t serve lemonade instead. Gross!
The cake looked much cuter before one of the snowmen became suicidal and jumped off of the cake taking other cupcakes and some icing along with him. I guess he wasn’t fond of the idea of being lit on fire a little later!
Our adorable little birthday girl is quite the tease! Check out this short video of her blowing out the candles.
And this is her eating the snowman’s nose made of mango flavored licorice.
THE PRESENTS
Lexi is lucky to have so many people that love her and spoil here! She was excited about every gift she got and made quite the haul!
She got this giant lion, a new outfit, an alphabet puzzle, a Dollie and Me outfit, a princess storybook, a toaster for her play kitchen, Jake puzzles and a new purse. What a great day! Thanks to everyone who shared it with her.
