Our Trip to Texas

We just returned from Texas, where we visited my sister Sonya and her family. The twins LOVED playing with their cousins. (Bray really did have fun despite the look on his face. It's not easy to get 4 kids to hold still and smile all at the same time!)

It was a trip of firsts. Brayden and Makenzie went on their first plane ride. And Andy and I survived (barely)! But that's a whole different story. The twins also went swimming for the first time.

Makenzie was a bit more adventurous than Brayden. She was excited the instant she got in. Brayden cried at first, but finally decided it was OK.

What fun! Thanks, Sonya, for hosting the entire Mildon clan. It was fun to have everyone together. We are counting down the days until Christmas when we can see y'all again.

Must be Summer!

TWINS Magazine

So my loyal blog readers out there (all 3 of you!) probably remember my Stupid Questions post. On a whim I decided to submit it to the managing editor at TWINS Magazine. And guess what? They are going to run it in the July/August 2008 Issue! This picture is also going to run next to my bio line. I can't wait to see it!

A Hard Day's Play

Today Brayden refused to take his afternoon nap. He played and played and had a good time. When Makenzie woke up from her nap we went out to the swings. Brayden tried REALLY hard to stay awake, but he just couldn't fight it any longer. This is how he fell asleep (with the swing still moving). . .

Brayden is all smiles as he sports this season's must-have accessory: the baby bucket hat. Both fashionable & functional, his lid keeps the sun out of those beautiful blue eyes and allows him to enjoy the view from the tricked out yellow wagon that he shares with his sister. Next stop: the swings.

Fun, Fun, Fun!

We've been having lots of fun this week! Today we took the twins on their very first hike. Makenzie chattered to anyone and anything that would listen. (And she only pulled my hair a couple of times. )
Brayden had so much fun that he couldn't hold his head up near the end of the hike. He was one tired boy!The twins also got to drive the shopping cart with the car on the front of it this week and had a ball. They are excellent drivers. I, on the other hand, need some practice. I hit a couple of displays trying to turn the corner. Oops!

Kenzie's Headband

When we were in Colorado, the twins loved playing with all of their cousins. Jenna even shared her headband with Makenzie.

Makenzie looked so cute that we had to go and buy her some of her own.
